Summer Internships
For those of you about to go to university, or who are currently studying at university, one of the most valuable opportunities is a summer internship.

An internship is typically a short period of paid work experience during your holidays, usually lasting between a few weeks and a few months.
​
The benefit of an internship is that it allows you to experience a sector, organisation or role before making any long-term commitments. You get to apply what you've learned during your studies, develop workplace skills, build your professional network and strengthen your CV.
​
Internships can also help answer important questions about your future career. You may discover that a role is exactly what you hoped it would be—or you may realise you'd prefer to explore something different. Either way, that's valuable insight.

For employers, internships are also a chance to identify future talent, which is why many graduate opportunities begin with an internship experience.
